I was recently contacted by the legendary JP St. Pierre, founder of the Super-Mega Corporation that is
Surfy Surfy. He asked if I could donate a handplane for the
Terry Martin Project. Well, what can you say to that? Terry Martin is a legend in the surfboard shaping world. So, what to do? How do you make something as small as a Handplane, POP, in a world of beautiful surfboards. Well, I think the first thing would be to try and find a following. It's kind of hard to follow something, if you can't see it from the get-go. My thoughts are that a build thread is in order. For the next few days, I will be highlighting the build of this handplane. Hopefully that will bring some exposure to such a worthy cause. This will be my very best effort. I think I am going to go with a Short and Fat Model. It is a good all around shape, that really highlights the better aspects of Brownfish Handplanes. For more information on the the Terry Martin Project, clicky here:

Here are the first few steps:
Pick out your best two halves of wood, with the grooviest grain patterns. Add a 10 ply colored stringer from Brad Appelgate at Appelcore stringers.
