This is by far

the best first handplane shape I have ever seen.  Actually, I would be pretty proud if I did it myself.  Lesider in New York pulled this first shape off after studying the internets for quite some time.  So far, he's got it right on.  Even down to using Paulownia.  Nice work Lee.

Really I have to thank you for the inspiration. If it wasn't for the erBB posts I don't think i would have actually tried making one, its been really enjoyable.
I think I going to spend a little more time with a sanding block to bring down the rails and it will be done.
Hopefully I'll be done with it by the end of the week

Seriously though, this is a really impressive bit of work. For those who don't know, Tim had to buy the tools for this job as he has hardly worked with wood.

All the more impressive.
